We are 3 weeks, or is it 4, wait, what day is it? I have completely lost track of the days and how long we have been safe at home. It has been an adjustment , even for us home schoolers, but we are settled into a nice routine. There is so much good happening for us and all over our community, state, nation and world. People are helping others. People are valuing being in their home. We are showing gratitude to people in a way that has never been before.
Easter-
We have been able to focus on Easter in a way unlike years past. We are taking more time to discuss and read and do some activities that help prepare our hearts.
Potty training-
Mr4 is potty trained! Once I grabbed a bag of Cadburry Mini Eggs he was all about using the toilet. We haven’t gone many places obviously but I think he’ll be good to go when it’s time to go places again.

Yard Work-
We have been tackling so much yard work. Mind you, we built our house 14 months ago so we have a lot to do but we have burned lots of brush, picked up tons of sticks and laid out plans for some soon to come future landscaping and our raised garden beds.

Playing together-
The boys have been playing really well. Yes there is still fighting but overall it’s been good. Outside or in the house they are all using their imaginations and energy to play together. We have made sure to have a dedicated quiet time several days a week and that helps have a little solo time for everyone.

Chances to serve others-
This time has opened some doors for us to serve others and I am grateful for that. We have been mailing letters and connecting with others we wouldn’t normally have happened to do so. We call to check in and check if folks need something if we are going to the store. The best part is, those folks are allowing us to help them!

Creating and home care-
I have been able to work on some small house projects and get cleaning caught up. I used my Cricut and made this wall decor for my laundry room with stuff I already had at home and finally finished the blanket I mentioned in this post.

Focus on chores and behaviors-
With this extra time we have been able to dedicate more time to the boys learning and carrying out household chores. Kids take longer to do chores than it does for us adults. That’s why its way easier to do them ourselves most of the time. Without having to finish school and hustle to activities we can allow them more time to figure it out and correct things if need be. Same goes for behaviors. It’s way easier to pacify and hustle a little boy through a temper tantrum than it is to stop and help him calm down and then talk about it.

Slow mornings-
Sleeping till 7, then coffee and Bible time, then breakfast and starting school. Slow afternoons are pretty awesome too. I’ve been able to go for a good long walk (I have almost doubled by average steps lately), soak up sunshine on the nice days and still have a cup of tea and work on the last point. Yes please!

Work on this blog
I have been able to work more easily on the blog which is super fun. I am working on some future projects and I’m very excited about them.
How are you doing with all of the changes going on? I hope you and your family are well and settling into this new normal.

The kids look so happy!
I know my kids are really enjoying being home and spending more time with me.
I miss having a yard at this time though, I would have the most amazing flower and garden beds.
Your adventures sound so fun!! I bet your kids are having a blast during self isolation.
The kids look like they are having fun! Your family seems to be really enjoying time together meaningfully! Take care and stay safe!
We are potty training on quarantine too! I need to get some Easter eggs and fill them as potty treats !
How awesome that you’ve gotten so much done! I’m still trying to find a new balance so I’ve been getting less done lately!
We have been doing a lot of hard work as well when the weather allows of course! And lots of board games, lots!
This sounds like you guys are using this time wisely! Potty training is huge so congrats on that!! We’re doing well over here just trying to take it all one day at a time!!
Wow! You’ve been extremely productive. I get genuinely happy, but a little jealous of people who are enjoying a slowed life. I’m a teacher and it feels like our workload quadrupled , with us needing to be on call, plus teaching my own 3 year old son, taking care of our home and then blogging. I hope that I do get some time to slow down.
Looks like y’all are having a great time together! I am definitely enjoying this slow season and spending it with the family. Don’t have to rush outta the house anymore 😂
The post itself looks fun so no need to comment on the fun you might have had in real life. So glad that you are taking this time positively
Sounds like you have been making the most of your time at home! 🙂
I am making the most at home by not thinking at all. My mind is super stress-free now.
It’s amazing how such an awful situation can still bring so much good—such as giving everyone the chance to slow down and enjoy being together again! Thanks for sharing your experiences!
This is absolutely a great time to slow down and enjoy being together. It definitely is a great time also for potty training. You are stuck around the house so it makes it easier for sure. Thank you so much for sharing this.
These are great. I have also enjoyed slow mornings!
Sounds like you have been making the best of this quarantine life with your kids!!! Can’t wait to see what else you are all up to.
It’s so good to see you thriving through this quarantine! I feel our days are much the same over here at our house too.
It’s good to know you are safe and having fun. Being at home gives us more time with our loved ones.
Sounds like you guys are handling things well. We are potty training our youngest during all this stay at home time too. Perfect timing for it!
Love your catch up! Looks like you’re making the best of it!
