Friday night Mister and I stole away after bedtime while his mom was visiting. You know you are 35 with kids when that’s exciting to you! What made it even better was the deals I snagged. Shaw’s is my most local grocery store and if you use their sales as part of your meal planning you can totally keep your grocery budget in check. Be careful as the sales are there to get you to buy other stuff of course but if you stick to the flyer and your list you’ll be good to go.

Chicken Thigh’s and Drumsticks- $.88 a pound each package is about $4 dollars and is something I always grab and stash in the freezer when they are on sale. On Sunday I roasted (400 degrees) the thighs with EVOO, salt, garlic powder and paprika for our dinner. I also roasted potatoes and steamed some frozen veggies. I knew we’d have leftovers so Mister’s lunch is all set for Monday

Salad dressings- I hated to buy them but at $1.50 a bottle I knew I couldn’t make them that cheap and we had a birthday party I was serving salad at so it was better to go the bottled route.
Spinach and greens mix- $5 for a large container of organic greens. I always have spinach on hand for my breakfasts and for lunch salads.
Deli meat- 3/$10 my boys love salami with their snacky lunches or salami and cheese melts on tortillas.
Yogurts- $.79 each when you buy 10. I bought 10 fruit flavors and 10 of the flip yogurts that will be reserved for after dinner treats.
Grapes- $1.27/ pound. I used one bag for the birthday party and one we’ll enjoy all week. I don’t buy grapes super often as we tend to burn out on them so I only get them when they are this good price.
Annie’s granola bars and fruit snacks- $1.77 each when you buy 4. Cant argue with that price for an organic snack. These are a treat and will only be enjoyed if we are snacking on the go.
Shredded cheese- $1.88 each. The birthday menu was mac and cheese so these were a great buy paired with a sale from last week of $.88 per box of pasta.
Coffee- $4.99 each, two of which had a $1 off peely coupon. These are regularly $9.99 so it was a good buy.
Turkey breast -$.59/pound. Good deal for a Sunday meal that I toss in the oven to be waiting for us after church.
I spent way more than I intended but this will last us a while and I had to buy stuff for the party. I purchased more than pictured but these were the major deals I grabbed. Talk about a great night out with my hubby!
Have you snagged any deals at your local grocery store lately? Let me know in the comments what you are buying!

Love this as a fellow Mainer and Shaws shopper, date nights for usually include a quick shop at Shaws or Target and a quick bite to eat.
Those are some great deals! I wish I could find them
I love grocery shopping and on a budget!! No Shaws near me since I live in MS. I do fancy our local Piggly Wiggly often!
I’m pretty sure that my husband would not be happy if I dragged him to the grocery store for a date night. Lol, But I would be!!
Thanks in support of sharing such a nice thought, post is nice, thats why i have read it fully
