I started shopping at Uncle Deans when I began buying flour and oats in bulk, 50 pound bags. When I shifted my buying pattern for these two specific items I found I really loved a reason to get to Waterville. Bulk foods make me happy whether it be dried fruit, nuts, dried beans, or snacks. My favorite item and treat is the cheddar sesame sticks. Only Mr3 and I like them and that’s fine because it just leaves us more to eat!

Uncle Deans is a fantastic spot to buy local products. A huge variety of honey, maple syrup, cheese, meats, milk, yogurt, beans, and everything else in between. If you cant get to the specific farm directly, this is the place to get it. They carry a large selection of allergy friendly foods and ingredients as well. Spices are great to buy here as you can fill a bag and refill your shaker at home. I love using fresh nutmeg and shared about it recently on Instagram. This is where I buy it!

Vitamins, supplements, home care products and even products to help reduce waste like food wraps, water bottles and fresh local flowers are all on the shelves.

I love buying my all purpose flour and old fashioned oats at Uncle Deans. These two , among other bulk items, are always right out in the 50 pound bags. No calling ahead or special ordering them. Their prices are the best and someone is always ready and willing to help load it up. I store my flour and oats in totes in the basement. I cant wait to get my pantry in shape and have them stored up stairs.
If you are looking to buy local products, bulk foods, waste reducing items and spices, Uncle Deans in Waterville is the place to go. Tell them One Maine Mama sent you!
