Wow, it is December! One of my goals at One Maine Mama is to support and share the amazing local businesses here in Maine. If you are reading from a place other than Maine, utilize the internet (if possible) and shop my favorites and be sure to support the small local businesses near you.

Uncle Deans’s Natural Market– A favorite of mine in Waterville, Maine. I buy lots of bulk foods here. They carry lots of local baked goods, wine, maple syrup and honey. A great selection of sustainable products as well. Great gift ideas!
Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens– If you are looking for a fantastic experience gift to share with someone, I highly recommend Gardens Aglow at the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens. Open through New Year’s Eve, bundle up and enjoy the lights with friends of family.

Now You’re Cooking– Gifts galore for the cook in your life! So many options for a large or small gift. A cooking class, cookware, utensils, cookbooks, the options are thorough. A gift certificate is a great route!
Renys- probably one of my most shopped stores for Christmas gifts. Everything from toys, to snacks, clothes to housewares. I”m never not in the mood to shop at Renys. Gift certificates are available for any of their 17 locations as well.
Big G’s Deli– If you are in the Fairfield area doing Christmas shopping and need lunch or want a place to meet friends for breakfast, Big G’s is where you want to meet. You could pair a gift card and a big whoopie pie as a great gift idea! Dont forget to snag a bag of day old bread for a great price!

Woods & Sea– Our family loves the shirts we have from Woods & Sea and we often get asked where we get them. If you want Maine apparel or swag donning the New England sports teams this is the place to go. T-shirts, hoodies, hats, onesies, they have it all! Order online and it’ll get shipped right to you!
Whatever you are buying this season be sure to double check your local or small business options. It may seem like just a few dollars spent but these businesses need us to make the decision to support them and keep them going. It’s like giving two gifts in one!
To read about even more of my favorite local Maine businesses head here.
If you are a business owner in Maine and would like to be highlighted on One Maine Mama shoot me a message, I’d love to pile my crew up and come visit!

I love that you’re advocating for shopping small. It’s a travesty that our local mom and pop establishments are being out of business daily.
Super! Love it! Congrats!
I love this! It’s so wonderful to support local and small businesses
